Carly Pearce is this week’s guest host on Backstage Country (March 4-8). The country star joins Kelly Ford in the studio all week long to discuss her new single and the title track to her next album, Humminbird, Beyonce’s No. 1 country hit, her adorable dogs, new ink, and so much more.

“The last few years have been a season of loss and growth, of healing and happiness. In 2023, Pearce hit the road for her very own headlining trek of dates for her Country Music Made Me Do It Tour. Later this month, she’ll join Tim McGaw’s 2024 Standing Room Only Tour, which kicks off in Jacksonville, Florida on March 14 and runs through June 21 in Phoenix, Arizona.

7 Carly Pearce Songs That Paved Her Way To A Grammy

• 7 – “Closer to You” – (2018)

  A smooth listen, this song was released in November 2018 as the first single from her self-titled second studio album.

• 6 – “Hide the Wine” – (2017)

  Pearce said that she wanted to record the song before she even had a record contract and was able to record it after another artist (Little Big Town) had declined it. The song is about "having a little too much to drink and then calling an old flame that you probably shouldn't."

• 5 – “Every Little Thing” – (2017)

  Her debut single and her very first number-one song. Carly wrote the song with Emily Shackelton and Busbee, who worked with many artists and died of brain cancer in 2019. Busbee also produced the song.
• 4 – “Next Girl” – (2020)

  This song has a lot of sass to it. This song was co-written by Pearce not long after her divorce from Michael Ray and was the lead single from her third studio album, "29: Written in Stone."

• 3 – “What He Didn’t Do” – (2022)

  A song about what her significant other does not do in the relationship. After the song was released, Pearce asked her fans on social media to relate to the song by sharing what their exes did not do.

• 2 – “I Hope You’re Happy Now” (with Lee Brice) – (2019)

  Carly co-wrote "I Hope You're Happy Now" with Luke Combs, Randy Montana, and Jonathan Singleton. Recorded as a duet with Lee Brice, it told the story of a breakup from both sides and was inspired by her own past relationship. Combs was originally going to be featured on the song, but when he chose to step down, Pearce reached out to Brice, who was impressed by the lyrics.
• 1 – “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” (with Ashley McBryde) – (2021)

  This Grammy-winning song was performed on a handful of Country Music award shows. This gem of a song also won the 2022 CMA For "Musical Event of the Year."
