McCreery has always been a memorable country act and a person who is dedicated to his craft. For the 30-year-old, it has been a “lifelong goal” to join the Grand Ole Opry, and the night he was asked was nothing short of special with his family, friends, and band members by his side.
“I truly had no clue. My whole family knew, my wife knew, my band knew, my team knew. My family from North Carolina flew in, but I didn’t even know it. They were in the back of the crowd, so everybody was in on it but me. But man, it was such a shock.” McCreery said.
McCreery continued, “I got to tell you, the Grand Ole Opry means so much to me as a musician, as an artist, but really as a fan of country music. I have a deep appreciation and respect for what the Opry has meant to country music from the earliest ages to today. So, it has always been at the top of my list of goals to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. I feel like that shows you’ve done something right in country music. People appreciate your music, and to get that little nod of approval from the Opry would always mean the world.”
In recent weeks, McCreery has been busy releasing new music including “Cab In A Solo,” “Can’t Pass The Bar,” and “Love Like This.” He is also currently out on the road for his ‘The Cab In A Solo Tour‘ with special guests Anne Wilson, Greylan James, and Noah Hicks on select dates.
