Uncle Kracker: Nashville Is Still A ‘Strong Music Town’
Uncle Kracker is a busy man and he’s readying his upcoming project, Coffee & Beer, his first full-length album to be released in in 12 years. The multi-platinum artist’s 13-track collection will drop on July 12.

Uncle Kracker worked with longtime collaborator and producer, Josh Bright, on his next album, which delivers a diverse, yet entertaining grouping of songs. He most recently dropped another new track from Coffee & Beer, titled “Beach Chair.”
“The process was easy, nothing was forced. It was easy. It came together nice just the way I like it. It never usually happens like that for me, but this time it went easy and I just went song for song on this one. Not reinventing any wheel,” Uncle Kracker said.
He continued, “That was a blast recording ‘Beach Chair.’ It was just shooting a video on the beach and a bunch of people clowning around. A lot of everything flying around. But just a blast. That’s one of them fun songs.”
Uncle Kracker, who is currently out on the road with Kenny Chesney for his Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour, says, “It’s like a dream” getting the chance to perform for stadium crowds for the No Shoes Nation. Their 2004 collaboration together and No. 1 hit, “When The Sung Goes Down,” continues to be a summer anthem for country music fans nationwide.
“Any time you can talk to Kenny, that sticks out. You know, he’s a great dude. It’s kind of nice just being able to fly back home with him in the morning after the show back to Nashville,” Uncle Kracker said.
The 50-year-old who currently resides in Nashville, is still taking it in, as far as everything Music City has to offer. Uncle Kracker admits he moved to town due to the fact that “it’s such a good music community.”
Uncle Kracker, who performed downtown during CMA Fest this past weekend, said of Nashville, “I think my favorite part of Nashville, well, as many tech companies and other companies that have moved here in the past ten years, it’s still a solid, strong music town. I don’t think that ever wavered.”
