“I wrote this song about growing up in Boulder, CO, and getting too comfortable with the city and people that I was used to, but also being afraid to leave. However, I knew that if I wanted to chase my dreams I wouldnât be able to accomplish the goals I had in mind if I stayed. I love my hometown and it will always hold the most special place in my heart, but I had to get out in order to spread my wings,” Scott said in a press statement.
The video for “City Limits” was filmed in her hometown of Boulder, Colorado, and was directed by Cece Dawson. Scott sings, âOh, Iâve been feeling fenced in/By a small town that wonât change/Maybe the grass is greener/Where no one knows my name.â
Scott’s track is featured on her 2023 album, Barstool Confessions, which follows the release of her 2022 EP, One Of These Days. There’s no doubting the love of her hometown; however, she most certainly chased her dreams to Music City.
âItâs such a surreal moment finally releasing my debut album,â says Scott. âIâve put so much love, sweat, and tears into this project over the years and Iâve spent so many sleepless nights getting it exactly where I want it to be. Itâs a perfect representation of me â perfectly imperfect.”
Barstool Confessions, Scott’s debut album, was released on the same day that she also fulfilled a lifetime dream of hers with her friends, family, and team by her side in Nashville. The singer-songwriter made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry, on October 20.
While stepping into the circle for the very first time, Scott performed her single, âLipstick On You,â among others. Click here for more information and to stay up to date with Scott.
