Cooper’s ‘Mama’ was co-penned by Cooper alongside Andrew Baylis, Geoff Warburton, and Michael Whitworth. It follows his 2023 releases, ‘Running Away,’ ‘Hello From The Road,’ and his fiery smash hit, ‘Kill Me.’
“I grew up in East Texas and kind of experienced a lot of people drinking a whole lot. Drugs and alcohol, both prominent in East Texas and in a lot of places. It’s kind of about just growing up and seeing those people that just take it to the extreme and just can’t handle their alcohol or whatever it is,” Cooper said.
He continued, “Anytime they would get better, it was always because they had their mama or they had their significant other in their corner backing them and being like, you’re going to be fine. You’re going to pull through this. It’s tough, but you’ll make it. It’s really what the song is about.”
Cooper released his acclaimed album, Boy From Anderson Country To The Moon, in August 2022. His latest release, ‘Mama,’ kicks off the next chapter of music for the talented singer-songwriter, and he says that he wants to continue to “make music that makes people feel s— and that I enjoy playing it.”
“We have a ton of music in the chamber that we’re waiting on, and I’m so excited about it,” Cooper said. “I just like to call it Texas Music. I’m just a good ol’ boy from Texas making music. Some of that comes out more country, some it comes out with more of a rock edge. I’m just having fun.”
Cooper is currently out on the road for his very own trek of headlining dates with stops coming up in Pittsburg, KS, Kansas City, MO, Billings, MT, and Nashville, TN. He will also appear at select festivals including Tailgate N’ Tallboys Illinois and Born & Raised 2024.
