It was a very busy year for McCreery. The singer was recently invited to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. He was also inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame. The 30-year-old expressed his excitement for what’s to come while guest-hosting Shawn Parr’s Backstage Country this week.
“Yeah, a lot of new music. I feel like I’ve been on the road now since 2011 and just kind of playing the record that we have out there. But we’re going to be doing a lot of new music that folks haven’t heard. They’ll be hearing it for the first time on this tour and kind of helping us decide, you know, what’s going to make that final album. You know, we’re going to be going based on reactions: are people up and dancing or are they sitting down checking their phones? Because that song probably won’t make a record. But, you know, it’s a lot of new music, new stories. And I’m excited. Me and the band have worked up a completely new show and started working on it, I think, in October, so that we’ve been working on it for months now,” McCreery revealed to Shawn Parr.
McCreery continued, “We did more tour dates in 2023 than I’ve ever done. We wrote a record. We recorded a record. Raised a one-year-old with Gabbie. It was like the busiest year of my life. We’re going to take 3 to 4 weeks off kind of around Christmas and then about mid-January, just get back after it with the band.”
The singer-songwriter will kick off his 2024 ‘The Cab In A Solo Tour‘ on January 26 in Troy, Ohio. McCreery will be joined by special guests Anne Wilson, Greylan James, and Noah Hicks on select dates.
