Jelly Roll, a Nashville native, is performing at CMA Fest and hosting the CMA Fest concert special alongside Ashley McBryde, airing a a later date. The “Save Me” singer took some time to reflect on some very memorable CMA Fest memories to date with Backstage Country’s Kelly Ford.
“I don’t remember my first one because I was so young, but it was a Fan Fair at the fairgrounds. I remember them all through my early years and then I remember when it kind of started migrating downtown and when the river stage started really going, and and it started getting really big down there,” Jelly Roll said.
He continued, “I have so many CMA memories, it’s hard to decipher one. I was thinking a lot recently about watching Thomas Rhett debut at the stadium and singing ‘Beer With Jesus.’ I bought a ticket that night just to see that song. I was just so moved by that song. I was like the dude that sings this song there. I got to see Zac Brown sing ‘Colder Weather’ there for the first time. I got to see some really iconic moments like that.”
CMA Fest is the world’s longest-running country music festival and is filled with outdoor performances across 10 stages. Whether you attend one day or all four days of CMA Fest, fans have access to hundreds of country music stars from June 6 through June 9.
Jelly Roll and McBryde are among the nightly lineup at Nissan Stadium which includes performances by Kelsea Ballerini, Brothers Osborne, Luke Bryan, Jordan Davis, HARDY, Cody Johnson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Parker McCollum, and many more.
