Dylan Scott: The ‘Greatest Advice’ He’s Received
Dylan Scott continues to make an impact in the country genre, but his most important role yet is being a father. The country singer and his wife, Blair Robinson, share three kids together: sons Beckett and Barron and daughter Finley.

With that being said, the question arises of whether or not his kids will follow in his footsteps. Scott’s response to Backstage Country’s Kelly Ford, “I don’t know what’s gonna happen with my kids, but whatever they want to do, that’s on them.”
“I was probably super shy until I actually got on the road in my early 20s and started playing music, and I finally broke through that shell. But this kid (six-year-old Beckett) right here is not that way at all. He loves the drums. He loves the guitar. He loves singing,” Scott admitted to Ford.
As someone who was heavily influenced by his own father, Scotty Robertson, as well as the legendary Keith Whitley, Scott has worked very hard to get to where he is today. The “What He’ll Never Have” singer revealed the advice he received from his father that has stuck with him throughout his career, and perhaps the advice he’ll pass down to his kids one day.
“Some of the greatest advice I got from my dad, was he told me music is not an overnight success. For some people it can be, but for most it’s not. I lived in town here for seven years before I ever had a hit with “My Girl,” Scott said.
He continued, “So, I think that’s what I will tell my kids. Hey, no matter what you do. It’s not an overnight success. Nobody can make it happen for you and you got to work hard at it. It’s not going to be an easy road. So pick what you want to pick and get after it.“
Scott has notched four No. 1 singles at Country radio to date, including “My Girl,” “Nobody,” “New Truck,” and “Can’t Have Mine.” In March, he released the deluxe edition of his sophomore project, Livin’ My Best Life (Still).
