Dylan Scott Performs Cover Of Iconic Keith Whitley Track
Dylan Scott has shared a video of himself performing a cover of the iconic Keith Whitley song, “Don’t Close Your Eyes” (and we think he did an incredible job). The country singer’s latest performance is a part of this season’s CMT’s Campire Sessions, which will debut on Friday (1/12).
Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes” was released in 1988, about one year before his passing in May of 1989, and is featured on his sophomore album of the same name. The song has been covered over the years by fellow country stars such as Tim McGraw, Luke Combs, Eric Church, and Brandon Davis, among others.
Aside from filming his campfire session with CMT, Scott recently teamed up with fellow singer-songwriter Dylan Marlowe for a track titled “Boys Back Home” as well as the electronic music duo, VAVO, for a remix of “This Town’s Been Too Good To Us.”
The country singer also scored the third No. 1 song of his career with “Can’t Have Mine” back in November. It is the second track to go No. 1 from his sophomore album, Livin’ My Best Life, following his previous single, “New Truck.”
On top of his music ventures, Scott recently opened up to his fans about his incredible journey running his side business, a residential trash business called The Trash Guys, with his good friend Jordan Powell. The singer-songwriter launched the company based in Downsville, Louisiana, in 2020.
Dylan Scott will join Cole Swindell out on the road for his 2024 ‘Win The Night Tour’ kicking off in May.
