If I’ve learned anything from being a country fan over the years, the performers love to spend their free time on the golf course with their buddies.

In honor of National Golf Lovers Day today (October 4), we wanted to put the spotlight on seven country stars we’d want to hit the golf course with if the opportunity presented itself. Aside from spending some time with one of your favorite artists, having someone with you who knows what they’re doing with a club would also be nice.

Obviously, there are a lot more than seven country artists who play or show an interest in golf but these guys stood out to us. Golf has made such an impact on the county genre in general that we even had to get some input from Backstage Country‘s own Shawn Parr himself. Parr has played with many of the stars shown below and has even hosted many golf charity events all over the country.

“Golf has been a part of my life since I can remember. With the last name Parr, I thought I should learn how to play. Golf and country music just fit so perfectly and it seems everybody in Country music plays. Brett Young, Darius Rucker, Shay from Dan and Shay, and so many others love to get out and hit them….and I love to take their money! What a blessing to bring them to Vanderbilt Legends in Franklin and just get to know each other even more. Golf is such great fellowship and I am so blessed to get to play and enjoy my passion,” Parr said.

Let’s take a deep dive into the golf course with seven of the country genre’s finest on the golf course. We hope you at least booked some tee time for this weekend.

  • 1. Darius Rucker

Darius Rucker is the first person that came to mind when I thought of country music and golf. Aside from enjoying the sport in his free time, he has also held one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the country for the last 11 years in South Carolina.

  • 2. Thomas Rhett

Thomas Rhett loves to have a good time on the golf course with his buddies from what we can tell on social media. According to the post below, he’s definitely getting focused this year.

  • 3. Cole Swindell

Cole Swindell wastes no time while out on the road touring. And he has a solid show day routine: golf, soundcheck, show. It sounds like a very good day in my book.

  • 4. Russell Dickerson

I’ve personally heard Russell Dickerson talk about golf and boy does he love it. Seriously, his passion pouring for golf was wild but very cool to see. Just like his music, he gives it his all and of course, has fun while doing it.

  • 5. Jake Owen

Jake Owen was one of the first country artists I ever saw in concert. I remember clearly him mentioning golf while up on stage. It’s nice to see that the artists have hobbies outside their main work just like you and me.

  • 6. Morgan Wallen (and Hardy)

I would say Morgan Wallen is probably a newer country member to join the golf scene but it’s no surprise that his buddy Hardy is seen with him playing on the course.

Charles Kelley is another country artist who loves his time on the golf course. He’s played at many charity events throughout the years while raising thousands of dollars with fellow celebrities.
