“We wrote ‘Strangers’ about a relationship that feels impossible to escape,” adds Langley. “Damned if you stay, damned if you leave. A good ole fashioned ‘catch-22.’ What do you do when you can’t stay lovers because it hurts too much, or friends, because it hurts too much? The only thing left to do is to leave the relationship in the memories and walk away. But even that seems like it’d end with the same result – heartbreak.”
Marlowe and Langley co-wrote “Strangers” alongside Will Bundy and Chase McGill. It just so happens to be one of the tracks to come out of their first-ever writing session together.
Marlowe, who recently released his new single, “Tennessee Don’t Mind,” will embark on his 2024 Strangers Tour with Tucker Wetmore on April 4 in Texas. He released his debut album, We Were Cowboys, in 2022, which features “Steady Heart,” “Giving You Up,” and “Burn ‘Em All.”
Aside from releasing a duet showcasing her stunning vocals, Langley was also just announced as part of CMT’s Next Women of Country Class of 2024. She continues to blow away her fan base with her singles “If You Have To” and “Damn You,” and with more to come.
