McCreery co-wrote his latest release alongside Brent Anderson, Cale Dodds, and Frank Rogers. Fans can hear the new track live when he hits the road. His 2024 Cab In A Solo Tour kicks off later this month.
âI grew up loving â90s country music, especially the barn-burning songs. I wanted one of my own. So I got together with some of my buddies and we wrote it,â McCreery said of the song. âCanât wait to perform this song live on the Cab in a Solo Tour.â
McCreery sings, “When the long weekâs paychecks are cashed / Where we gonna spend it, buddy you ainât gotta ask / When the neon lights are kicking on, all of us are heading / To a home away from home / We donât look like much but weâre pretty damn smart / For some good ole boys that canât pass the bar”
On top of expressing his excitement about being invited to become the next member of the Grand Ole Opry, McCreery also shared with us what’s to come in the New Year on Shawn Parr’s Backstage Country when it comes  to touring, new music, and more.
“Weâre going to be doing a lot of new music that folks havenât heard. Theyâll be hearing it for the first time on this tour and kind of helping us decide, you know, whatâs going to make that final album. You know, weâre going to be going based on reactions: are people up and dancing, or are they sitting down checking their phones? Because that song probably wonât make a record. But, you know, itâs a lot of new music, new stories. And Iâm excited. Me and the band have worked up a completely new show and started working on it, I think, in October, so that weâve been working on it for months now,â McCreery revealed to Shawn Parr.
