Stapleton’s “What Are You Listening To?” is said to be one of the best songs he’s ever released. Fans since day one were introduced to this song long before the days of “Tennesee Whiskey” and “Parachute.”
Moroney is also not the first artist to share a cover of the fan-favorite Stapleton song. Her labelmate, Luke Combs, posted a video to TikTok back in November of 2022 performing the song as well.
The 25-year-old had a spectacular end to 2023 while celebrating her first-ever No. 1 hit, “Tennesse Orange,” the lead single on her debut album, Lucky, and performing at a sold-out show at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl, where she was surprised with an RIAA 2x platinum plaque.
In 2023, Moroney also joined Old Dominion for a collaboration, singing on their Memory Lane album track, “Can’t Break Up Now.”
“She has the kind of voice that really sells this song. She has that rasp and that character in her voice, and she’s just such a great songwriter and a great artist. So, you know, we knew right away that she was the right one,” Old Dominion’s keyboardist/guitarist/accordion man Trevor Rosen told Shawn Parr on Shawn Parr’s Backstage Country.
Moroney was recently named among the five artists, including George Birge, Conner Smith, Corey Kent, and Dilon Carmichael, as the New Faces of Country Music at the upcoming 2024 Country Radio Seminar (CRS).
This Sunday (1/7), Moroney along with country stars Jon Pardi and Jake Owen, will perform during a series of concerts in Houston, Texas, leading up to the 2024 CFP National Championship on Monday, January 8, at NRG Stadium.
