Smith's debut album will feature the title track, "Smoky Mountains," his Gold-certified "Take It Slow," "I Hate Alabama," and his current single, "Creek Will Rise."
Smith posted on Instagram,"I wrote 'Smoky Mountains' as the intro to this album. I didn’t expect this song to ever stand alone, but after holding this record, I thought that this song would tell you the story this record will tell. A story of living inside a dream, a story of missing home, and a story of growing up along the way. This album feels like the beginning,"
Smith worked alongside hitmakers like Chase McGill, Thomas Rhett, Mark Trussell, Parker Welling and more to create his 12-track collection set to be released in 2024. The 23-year-old co-wrote everyone on the project except for one.
“It very much took 23 years to make these 12 songs,” Smith says. “I felt like I found my own lane I was able to drive down, and I’m really proud of what it has become. There’s not a wasted second on the record – every song matters. And I think it really shows all the different things that make me ‘me’ – as a songwriter, a vocalist and as a performer,” Smith exclaimed in a press statement.
The singer-songwriter is currently in the midst of his headlining Creek Will Rise Tour with special guests Lauren Watkins and John Morgan. Smith will kick off the second leg of the tour on November 30 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Today is National Sunglasses Day, and when sunglasses grace the face of a country superstar, it makes them look even cooler. Yeah, it's actually a scientific fact that sunglasses make people look more attractive.
A couple of examples of this fact come from National Today. They say that shades offer a symmetry structure to your face. They added that no face is perfectly symmetrical, but sunglasses hide that. Sunglasses also add an air of mystery: when you cannot see someone's eye movements, they appear more mysterious.
Sunglasses first became popular in the 1920s when movie stars of the day started to wear them. It wasn't until 1937 when Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses became the hottest accessory for celebrities and the rest of society. The original glasses featured a plastic frame with the now classic Aviator shape. The sunglasses were remodeled with a metal frame the following year and rebranded as the Ray-Ban Aviator. However, sunglasses were first created by the Chinese, who started to tint eyeglasses in the 12th century.
Country stars, like movie stars, have often worn sunglasses. Eric Church added the accessory to his style and brand as a permanent fixture when he released his Chief album in 2011, donning aviator sunglasses on the cover. Church is not often seen without his signature sunglasses wherever he is appearing on stage, on TV, or on red carpets. Country icon Hank Williams Jr. also started wearing sunglasses as a permanent look after an accident damaged his face.
As we join the country in celebrating National Sunglasses Day, we take a look at country stars on stage or just out and about wearing shades.
