Luke Bryan Hopes To Take A Break Soon
Luke Bryan is one of the hardest-working artists in country music. As he gears up to co-host another CMA Awards show next month (11/8), the American Idol judge and country superstar says he needs to take a break and enjoy his life at some point soon.
Luke recently celebrated thirty number-one songs at a party in Nashville and told us that as much as he loves his place in country music, something has got to give. He said, “I really feel blessed that I can still, after all this time, have a tangible role as being somebody high up in the business. I can’t always keep facilitating and doing so much in the business. At some point, I’ve got to watch a kid’s football game, and at some point, my wife and I have to go take a trip to a foreign country. We’ve been so busy we haven’t even gotten to go travel abroad and do all that.”

Still, Bryan appreciates where he is in the business. He offered, “At the end of the day, when I wake up, and I feel great, and I’ve slept great, and haven’t flown across the country and jetlagged and all that when I’m on stage, I love every second of it. I still love connecting with the fans, and I still love a great song getting sent to me by a great writer or trying to write a great one.”
Luke looks back, “The kid that wrote the first number one to the present day, I’m really happy to say I checked all the things off the list and got to do incredible things and meet incredible people. I’m such in the gravy land of everything that happens to me. I’m in the super, super bonus. Now, it’s just managing my expectations for the rest of my career.”
Bryan always loves it when what he does inspires others. He said of his 2021 My Dirt Road Diary documentary series, “Even when you look at the documentary and people coming up and say, ‘Your documentary really changed my life.’ That’s what is really special as my career goes on. Hopefully, my personality will influence people to really still have fun in the business.”
