Miranda Lambert posted a clip of a new song she and Dierks Bentley have recorded together for the CBS TV drama Fire Country, which will air one of the new songs on Friday (5/12). The two country stars have recorded a couple of songs for the show.

Miranda posted a clip of her and Dierks singing one of the new songs in the studio on Instagram. While she did not reveal the title of any of the new songs, She wrote along with the clip, “Got some exciting news for y’all! We have a few new songs that will be on @FireCountryCBS! (fire emoji) Tune into the show for the next two weeks on @cbstv to hear ’em.”

Fans loved the new stuff, and many responded to Lambert’s post, including one who wrote, “Their voices together is GOLD!!! Beautiful!!!!” Another fan said, “Omg, I love this match!!!!” One more fan commented, “Excited!!! I love that show!! I’m gonna be so sad after the season ends!”

Miranda Lambert sat down and chatted with Chris Wallace on Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace on HBO Max and CNN, which aired last week (5/5). In the segment, Miranda discussed writing the theme song for Queer Eye, “Y’all Means All.” and country music being “standoffish” to the LGBTQ community.

Lambert told Wallace, “I’m not sure. I don’t know why anybody would have time for all of the hate. I don’t feel like there’s room in my life and in my world and in my country music community.” She added, “I feel like we’re all in it together and just, more than anything encouraging people to be who they are no matter what.”

Wallace then asked her if she got a “blowback” from her stance. She replied, “I don’t think so. Or maybe I just don’t hear it or care to hear it. I just feel like I’m a singer-songwriter. My job is to write songs and sing songs about who I am and what I believe in and write all of our stories. And that’s part of the story and in my own life with my brother and his husband, Marc. So I feel like if you keep it about the music and love the rest of it’s just noise.”

Five Country Superstars Who Are Not Opry Members

  • Tim McGraw

Tim made his Grand Ole Opry debut in December 2003. After that, he played it a few times, but never that much, and now he doesn’t play the Grand Ole Opry at all. Not sure why.

  • Faith Hill

Faith played the Opry in the late 1990s when her career started to hit. She didn’t play the Opry stage much after that.

  • George Strait

George played the Grand Ole Opry show once, his debut performance on the stage in October of 1982. That was the first and last time, and no one really knows why. There is a theory that he could not make the Opry commitment to play the stage very much because he never lived in Nashville; he has always resided in Texas.

  • Miranda Lambert

Miranda played the Grand Ole Opry several times in her career, and some of her most recent performances on the Opry stage were in 2014 with then-husband Blake Shelton and in 2015 and 2016. She does not play it often now, and in 2015, she told me when asked about the Grand Ole Opry and someday becoming a member, “It’s sort of something I don’t talk about or have never asked or say that out loud. It was always a big deal to Blake, so that was something we always talked about, and he became a member, but I’d never really set it out for myself.” She added, “It wasn’t on my radar before because I focused on that for him, but I would definitely never say no to being a member of the Grand Ole Opry.”

  • Kenny Chesney

Kenny made his Opry debut in 1996. He has been on the Opry stage a handful of times and once when he paid tribute to George Jones singing his classic, “White Lightning.” These days it’s very rare to see Chesney on the Grand Ole Opry stage.
