Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite movies.  I watched it with my daughter every Halloween season when she was younger.  My son is 13.  He’s never been one for sitting down and watching a movie with Mom until more recently.  I am ashamed to say that only recently did we watch the movie together.  Parenting: it’s full of regrets.  Having corrected my mistake, I also did some significant shopping for all things Jack Skellington and Sally.

Taking over Christmas is no way to fill the gaping hole you feel inside. – Sally

But a little retail therapy might help fill that hole. This might actually be a list of gifts my family is welcome to get me for Christmas, but I did include the coolest of items for everyone.  I know, I’m too kind.

Nightmare Before Christmas Turns 20

What’s this? What’s this?  I can’t believe this movie is turning 20!  Tim Burton created a timeless classic in 1993 and the movie is still so popular today that many movie theatres run it during the Halloween season every year. The Insider has a bunch of fun facts including these: the script was based on a poem that had only three characters and the songs were written before the script.

Is It a Halloween Movie or a Christmas Movie?

Personally, I say both, but it’s definitely centered more around Halloween. Jack is the central character and he is the Pumpkin King, but maybe you have different thoughts.  The debate over this has been around as long as the movie.
