Chris Stapleton and his performance of the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVII is the talk of country today. Everyone is saying the same thing: he was just incredible. As we wrote yesterday (2/12), Stapleton’s guitar and vocals version stunned the crowd. During his performance, the camera shot went to many of both teams’ players, some of whom were brought to tears. Philadelphia Eagles’ head coach Nick Sirianni was visibly crying while Stapleton sang.  Oscar-winning actor Troy Kotsur signed the performance for the camera for the hearing impaired.

This was Chris’ first time performing the National Anthem at a Super Bowl. Last year, Mickey Guyton sang the National Anthem. In years past, Luke Byan sang it. Eric Church played guitar and sang the National Anthem along with Jazmine Sullivan in 2021. Carrie Underwood also sang the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in 2010.
