9 Country Stars Enjoying Their Snow Day In Nashville

Nashville was hit with a historic amount of snow over the last few days, thanks to Winter Storm Heather. Although it was freezing outside, that didn’t stop anyone from sledding, building a snowman or even putting for that matter.

It was a snow day for the books and a memorable one for country stars, residents, and those visiting Music City (1/14-1/15), to say the least. According to the National Weather Service, Nashville “received more than an entire winter’s worth of snow in just one event” with a total snowfall accumulation of 7.6 inches.

Kenny Chesney, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady A’s Charles Kelley, Jake Owen, Nate Smith, Sam Hunt, Jason Aldean, Jessie James Decker, and Jon Pardi, were just a few of the country stars showing off their snow day fun in Nashville on Instagram over the past 48 hours.

While Decker and Aldean brought out the sleds and snowsuits for their little ones, Chesney and Ballerini played with their dogs, Kelley swung his golf club, and Pardi had to deal with flight cancellations. Owen admitted, “I have no idea what to do when it snows.”

There was no shortage of snow day fun to be had in Nashville, that’s for sure. If you were home following along on social media, you most likely caught Instagram stories from Morgan Wallen, Mitchell Tenpenny, Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown, Carrie Underwood, Jana Kramer, Maddie & Tae, and more.

While the first of the snow for 2024 has come and gone (it is still here looking all pretty on the ground), Nashville is still dealing with bitterly cold temperatures and all of Middle Tennessee will “feel like they are in the negative digits” tonight 1/16 into tomorrow 1/17, as reported by NWS Nashville.

  • Kenny Chesney

    We’re not going to lie: it was quite a shock to see Kenny Chesney posting about a snow day. The country star is typically known to be away at his island home, but he was at. his home in Nashville with his “best friend” Poncho and, of course, enjoying some Blue Chair Bay rum.

  • Kelsea Ballerini

    Kelsea Ballerini is standing by the choices she makes in 2024. The country singer posted a series of photos to Instagram during her snow day featuring a dip in her hot tub, her adorable dog Dibs, and even a smooch with her boyfriend, actor Chase Stokes.

  • Charles Kelley (Lady A)

    Charles Kelley and his son Ward had quite the start to their snow day(s) during the historic start of Winter Storm Heather in Nashville on Sunday night (1/14). The country singer shared the video below captioned “Backyard night snow putting in Nashville!” as you also hear Ward commenting “You’re closer than you were.” It’s honestly adorable.

  • Jake Owen

    As if we didn’t already love Jake Owen, we also love an honest man. The country singer posted a few photos to his Instagram account on his snow day featuring his dogs with the caption, “As a Florida kid, I have no idea what to do when it snows. I’m not cut out for this. As a German Shepherd, I’m not sure what they’re thinking. Not because they’re a dog.. I understand dogs very well.. I just don’t speak German.”

  • Nate Smith

    Nate Smith is one to always keep it real with his fans. The country singer posted a video of himself walking in snowy Nashville while drinking an iced mocha coffee expressing that he’s “always loved” the snow. If his smile doesn’t make you smile, then keep scrolling.

    Sam Hunt had a daddy-daughter snow day in Nashville. The country singer posted a photo to Instagram with his baby girl Lucy Louise all bundled up and ready to play yesterday (1/15).

  • Jason Aldean

    Jason Aldean’s wife Brittany shared a photo of their kids, son, Memphis, and daughter, Navy, dressed in their camouflage snowsuits all ready to take on the snow in Nashville followed by a necessary hot cup of hot chocolate in hand. Brittany captioned the photo, “I love being snowed in with my little fam.”

  • Jessie James Decker

    Jessie James Decker was reminded of her days in Colorado when Winter Storm Heather hit Nashville with the historic snowfall over the last few days. The country singer shared a series of adorable photos that captured her kids and dogs having the time of their lives in the snow (aside from her husband Eric shoveling).

  • Jon Pardi

    Jon Pardi and his wife Summer’s daughter Presley had something to laugh about during their snow day and it wasn’t their cancelled flight to Mexico. The “Cowboys And Plowboys” singer can be seen below playing in the snow with his little girl and up next, is the ocean.
