The top 15 Halloween costumes this year include some iconic horror movie characters and some inspired by popular films of the past year. Check out how they ranked among the list below.
15. Vampire
George De Sota/Getty ImagesKicking off the list at #15 are those pesky bloodsuckers. Honestly, wearing red contacts and fangs sounds like a dream.
14. Angel
ShutterstockSent from above, angel costumes rank #14. Of course, angel costumes can be wholesome or more risqué... which is the case with all Halloween costumes these days.
13. Pumpkin
Ralph Orlowski/Getty ImagesI've seen different variations of the pumpkin costume, with folks simply wearing a pumpkin head or being a human-sized pumpkin.
12. Pirate
Potter/Express/Getty ImagesCaptain Jack Sparrow single-handedly made pirates cool again. Go ahead, try to change my mind.
11. Cheerleader
Loren Orr/Getty Images)B-O-O give us a fright, B-O-O with all your might! Cheerleaders take the #11 spot, and who doesn't love shaking around pom-poms? This costume is great because guys like getting in on the fun dressing as cheerleaders, too.
10. Chucky
Ilya S. Savenok/Getty ImagesI don't know what would possess someone to choose Chucky other than the fact that they're twisted. Your friend till the end, Chucky comes in at #10.
9. Clown
Allison Joyce/Getty ImagesClowns can be creepy or cute, and even when they're cute, they're still creepy.
8. Cowboy
Hulton Archive/Getty ImagesGiddy on up and strap on them cowboy boots and hat partner!
7. Harley Quinn
Matt Cowan/Getty ImagesPersonally, this version of Harley Quinn has been so overplayed, I'm perfectly okay with not seeing this for the rest of my life.
6. Fairy
Jim Gray/Keystone/Hulton Archive/Getty ImagesA sweet and playful fairy costume is perfect for those wanting to highlight their makeup skills.
5. Cruella De Vil
Gareth Cattermole/Getty ImagesThe next Harley Quinn of costumes surely will be Cruella. Though the movie was fantastic, it gets boring real fast when everyone jumps on the bandwagon.
4. Spider-Man
Chung Sung-Jun/Getty ImagesIt's no surprise to see Spider-Man ranking so high on the list. Spider-Man costumes are both fun and funny to see when there are multiples.
3. Dinosaur
Chip Somodevilla/Getty ImagesRawr! Dinosaurs ranking at #3 is honestly surprising, as the only dinosaur costumes I've seen are the inflatable ones, as seen in this photo.
2. Rabbit
David Livingston/Getty ImagesThat's hot. Whenever you see rabbit/bunny costumes, it's pretty safe to assume it will involve lingerie.
1. Witch
Thomas Lohnes/Getty ImagesThe unofficial mascot of Halloween is none other than the witch! Interpretations of witch costumes have spread out with film and television and we love every version of it.
