Wynonna Reacts To CMA Talk: ‘I Read The Comments’
Wynonna knows about all the “concern” fans had for her after her what was called a “shaky” opening CMA Performance of “Need A Favor” with Jelly Roll at last night’s (11/8) CMA Awards.
In a private jet on her way to a show in Texas, a refreshed-looking Wynonna was all smiles and taped a message and posted it to her social media, including Instagram. She said in the video clip, “Okay, so they say, ‘Don’t read the comments. I read the comments. And I’m just gonna come clean with ya’ll. I was so freaking nervous, I got out there, and I looked at Jelly Roll, and I wanted it to be so good for him. I could cry right now, but I’m not going to because I am such a fan of his, and he asked me to sing, and I said, ‘Absolutely.’ I got out there, and I was so nervous that I just held on for dear life, and that’s the bottom line.”
She continued, “I am on my way to Texas to do a show tomorrow night—the ‘Back To Wy’ tour resumes. I’ll be on stage tonight with the people I love the most and with you, the fans I love the most. All is well.”

She sighed and said, “And on a lighter note, before I went out on stage to sing the opening of CMA, I heard a joke, and it went something like this: “Number one, don’t fall. Number two, don’t s— yourself, and number three, God forbid if you should fall, don’t s— yourself.”
Fans were so supportive of Wy, and many reacted to the post. One fan said, “I thought you were just showing him love! You were phenomenal.” Another fan wrote, “I love you & your music, but I would be nervous too if I were anywhere near Jelly Roll!!!” One more die-hard commented, “You were fabulous. Never doubt how much we see how hard you work and feel the music!!”
