Luke Bryan Tells Crowd ‘You’re Welcome’ For The Eagles Drafting His Georgia Bulldogs
During the second weekend of his “Country On Tour” Luke Bryan joined forces with 92.5 XTU Philadelphia’s Country Station at Freedom Mortage Pavillon in Camden, New Jersey for a very sold out show. The XTU Anniversary Show with Luke Bryan took over the Philadelphia area in more ways than one after Luke Bryan’s shoutout to the Philadelphia Eagles on stage.
To break down the connection of the Philadelphia Eagles to the Georgia Bulldogs, Last year’s draft the Eagles drafted Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean. In this year’s draft, the Eagles drafted lineman Jalen Carter, linebacker Nolan Smith and cornerback Kelee Ringo. And right after the draft, they got Philadelphia native D’Andre Swift, another Georgia alum. The Eagles are the NFL team with the most Georgia players on their roster.
While Luke Bryan was backstage he spent time with the 92.5 XTU air staff before hitting the stage.
While chatting backstage, 92.5 XTU’s on air personality Nicole Michalik introduced herself to Luke saying this is the first time she is meeting him and thanked him for partnering with XTU for the Anniversary Show. Nicole, who does afternoon drive on XTU, is a huge sports fan, especially of the Philadelphia Eagles. So she said to Luke, “I was going to bring you Eagles gear since you’re an Eagles fan now because we drafted all of your Georgia Bulldogs.” Luke laughed and his eyes lit up and he said, “They did, and that’s really good, I’m going to use that tonight.” Nicole and Luke snapped a pic and off they went. Nicole to watch the show, and Luke Bryan to well, be Luke Bryan
During the show Bryan did in fact “use that”. In between songs Bryan begins to talk to the crowd and asks the fans to thank him, he said, “The Eagles pretty much drafted my whole Georgia football team,” “I mean what is it, like Fly Eagles Fly or somethin’?” He said, “Boy you start talking football and sports, y’all lose your [expletive].”

Luke went on to talk about Georgia and the Eagles for a good 3 minutes which ended with the crowded chanting E-A-G-L-E-S!
The Eagles star offensive lineman Lane Johnson even commented on the NFL’s Instagram saying “@LukeBryan knows with the Eagle emoji.”
Needless to say Philadelphia was buzzing, having Luke Bryan stop in your city for his tour is always fun, but having him support your football team is next level.
