Garth Brooks’ ‘Perfect’ Birthday Involves ‘No Gifts’
When Garth Brooks celebrates his 63rd birthday today (2/7), he plans to do it in grand fashion and will likely be spending the day in his pajamas!
Garth told us, “Having birthdays is still better than not having them. But here’s the deal – my birthday is every day…literally. Miss Yearwood and the people in my life spoil me every day.”
There’s little doubt Trisha – a New York Times best-selling cookbook author who’s known far and wide for her skills in the kitchen – will be doing that, baking Brooks his favorite German Chocolate Cake, as she always does. But it doesn’t end there.
He shares, “My favorite cake is German Chocolate, but because we have a lot of friends whose birthdays are around the same time, she makes a lot of different cakes – carrot cake, key lime cake…crazy good!”
And that may lend itself to his plans for the day, he says, “At my birthday party…no gifts. You must wear your jammies or your most comfortable clothing. And you must eat too much. That’s the perfect party for me!”

After nearly two years of one-of-a-kind performances, Brooks’ residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas is set to wrap with three weekends of shows.
Garth said, “It’s just so much fun. If you haven’t seen the show yet, you’re in a bar in the show. I think what my favorite thing is it feels like everybody feels like they’re a part of it.”
As Brooks prepares to put the wraps on this Vegas engagement, he does have a goal in mind for those who’ll be in the audience. He offered, “What you want to do is you want to peak on your last show…and these guys do it great,” he says of his band and crew. “It’s like any sports team – you want to be playing your best sport, your best game during the playoffs.”
Garth’s remaining performances inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace begin February 21, 22, and 23, and they continue over the following two weekends with the last show set for March 9.
