Lainey Wilson: CMA Nods Are ‘Incredible Honor’
Lainey Wilson heard of her latest CMA nominations while on a fashion trip to New York City. She posted some pics of her in the Big Apple on Instagram to show off her new look.
She captioned the post: “I wore @carolinaherrera for last year’s #CMAawards red carpet, and on the morning of the nomination announcement for the 2024 CMA Awards, I’m heading to my first fashion show for #NYFW, with none other than Carolina Herrera of course.”
She added. “You never know what’s next! Thank you @cma. It’s an incredible honor to be nominated in each of these categories. And congrats to all my friends. Watching y’all win gets me fired up.”

Wilson is on top of her game in country music and now can consider herself a trailblazer who other acts in the future will look up to and follow when they have dreams of country superstardom.
When we chatted with Lainey recently, she told us that being a trailblazer was something she aspired to. She said, “That’s all I ever wanted was to do what people did for me. It does feel good to know that now, just even speaking on somebody’s behalf could make a big difference.”
She added, “A lot of my friends in this town, I have a lot of really incredibly talented female friends in this town who have been at it a long time. And they’re the kind of girls, too, who ain’t giving up. I surround myself with those kinds of people.”
Wilson concluded with a smile, “It’s good to know that I can speak on their behalf or maybe make a phone call or just sing their praises because that’s what has helped me more than anything. When somebody just says your name to somebody else and says, ‘She’s hard-working,’ or ‘She’s kind,’ or ‘She’s talented.’ To me, that goes more than a lot of other things.”
She said in a recent video on social media, “I’ve been thinking about my ‘day one’ people, talking about people who have stood by my side and supported me when I didn’t have anything to offer except for a few songs and a big ole dream.”
Lainey continued, “Ya’ll, we have been working on this thing for over a year, and I am so glad our labor of love you can call is almost yours, almost.”
