“I’m so thankful to have my third consecutive No. 1 single on country radio, and it feels surreal to have it happen on the two-year anniversary of starting this journey with the release of ‘5 Foot 9,’” says Hubbard in a press statement. “The past two years have been amazing, and I’m grateful for all the support from country radio, the fans, and my UMG Nashville/EMI team. I’m excited to keep it going and keep telling my story through my music, songwriting, and live shows, and I’m happy we’re all on this ride together.”
The Story Behind Tyler Hubbard’s “Back Then Right Now”
Hubbard co-wrote “Back Then Right Now” alongside Jessie Jo Dillon (the 2024 ACM Songwriter Of The Year winner), David Garcia and Geoff Warburton. The song follows the success of his first No. 1, “5 Foot 9,” and his second No. 1, “Dancin’ In The Country.”
“Sort of just took a trip down memory lane. Spent most of the day talking about the things we miss about growing up and the good old days, if you will,” Hubbard recently told Backstage Country’s Kelly Ford.
He continued, “It just sort of turned into a song. So, it’s one of those magical songwriting days, and it’s been fun to watch it grow live and hear it on the radio.”
Hubbard is currently out on the road as a supporting act on Kane Brown’s 2024 In The Air Tour. He will kick off his own headlining ‘Strong World Tour’ this fall and head to Charlotte, Houston, Nashville, and Philadelphia, among other cities.
