“I did this with a with a new batch of producers, a lot of different songwriters. This is the funnest album that I’ve made I think. This is a very, very ‘me’ album. If you liked Tangled Up and Life Changes, Center Point Road, this album is sort of that on steroids to me,” Rhett told Backstage Country’s Kelly Ford.
He continued, “Just kind of got back to the root of why I love to make music and put smiles on faces, and feel joyful, you know, supposed to be fun. So, yeah, we’re dropping a bunch of songs this summer, leading up to the record and playing a bunch of shows.”
Rhett also revealed to Ford that his next project is his wife’s favorite. So far this month, the country hitmaker has performed the album’s lead single, “Beautiful As You,” live at the 2024 ACM Awards and during the season 25 finale of The Voice.
Rhett’s forthcoming project, due out later this summer, will follow his 2022 album, Where We Started, and the 2023 release of his 20 Number Ones collection, which does not include his most recent No. 1, “Mamaw’s House,” with Morgan Wallen.
The Home Team also got a nice surprise on Instagram today (5/23) when Rhett posted a teaser to another new song titled “Gone Country.” He captioned the post, “Spent the last 3 months playing this so loud that my phone told me I hit my sound limit for the week. Also, Willa Gray told me yesterday, “this slaps dad.” So….”
