Midland Brings The ‘Old Fashioned Feeling’ With New Single
Midland released a new single today (5/22) titled “Old Fashioned Feeling.” The country trio, consisting of Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy, and Jess Carson, recorded the track at the historic Georgia Mae Studios in Savannah, Georgia.

“Sometimes it feels good to go for a swim in the blues, have a sip of that fiery nostalgia and live in the memory of something that was once so sweet that’s now turned bitter. Lose yourself in this classic country cup of 80 proof soul with a back beat,” explains Midland. “It’s the sound of every dingy neon hazed bar room where you go to hide in plain sight.”
Midland’s “Old Fashioned Feeling” was co-written by Wystrach, Duddy, Carson, Josh Osborne, and Matt Dragstrem. Produced by Dave Cobb, the guys say the song is as “smooth as the drink it’s named after” and “smoky as your favorite bar.”
The new single follows Midland’s tribute to their home state, “Up In Texas,” released at the end of last year, and their collaboration, “The Hurtin’ Kind,” featured on Orville Peck’s duets album, which dropped earlier this month.
Next up for Midland, a cover of Tom Petty’s iconic “Mary Jane’s Last Dance,” featured on the tribute album, Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty, due out on June 21.
