Sam Hunt Celebrates 10th No. 1 With ‘Outskirts’
Sam Hunt is having a huge year so far and now he’s celebrating his 10th No. 1 song on country radio with “Outskirts.” The singer-songwriter’s current single was originally released in March 2023 and is now featured on his new EP, Locked Up.

“‘Outskirts’ is a song that I wrote from the perspective of my life. Had I not settled down and gotten married,” Hunt told Backstage Country. “I could foresee the regret there had I not made that decision. So that’s the song I wrote from that guy’s perspective. Luckily, I made the right choice and got married and settled down.”
Most recently, Hunt took his latest release, “Locked Up,” to the CMT Awards where he gave a powerful performance, yet admitted he was a bit nervous. The country star released an official music video for the song on the same day, which reimagines Johnny Cash’s 1968 concert at Folsom Prison.
Earlier this month, Hunt wrapped up his headlining ‘Outskirts Tour’ with special guests Brett Young and Lily Rose. In addition, he released his new EP, Locked Up, featuring the title track, “Country House,” “Last Hurrah,” and “Outskirts.”
The five-time Grammy nominee will return to the road this summer for the ‘Locked Up Tour’ with Russell Dickerson, Dalton Rover, and George Birge. Click below to listen to Hunt’s now No. 1 hit, “Outskirts.”
