Carly Pearce On Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”
As we all know, Beyonce has officially stepped into her country era for her upcoming album, Renaissance: Act II, with the release of “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The world learned of Queen Bey’s new collection of music during Super Bowl XXIV last month.
While the world (especially the social media world) continues to share their opinions on the song, country star and Grammy winner Carly Pearce is throwing her thoughts in the mix, calling Beyonce “iconic” and talking about her impact on women globally.

“I loved Destiny’s Child as a teenager, to me she is just one of the iconic female voices of my generation and somebody who continues just to elevate and continues to have one of those diva personas to where I think she speaks to women across any genre of just you can be larger than life,” Pearce said while co-hosting Backstage Country this week alongside Kelly Ford.
Beyonce’s first country crossover hit song has been the talk of the genre for weeks and has become her ninth solo career No. 1 and first-ever song to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
When Ford asked if Pearce would ever like to reimagine one of Beyonce’s songs, she said “Absolutely not.” She clarified that she answered “no” not because she doesn’t love her music, but because for certain singers, and artists such as Beyonce and Adele, “There is only one.”
While I agree with Pearce on this, the fear of living up to such a high standard hasn’t stopped other country artists from performing covers of Beyonce’s songs in the past.
Country artists have been putting their own twist on some of her major hits while on tour for years, including “Crazy In Love” (Kelsea Ballerini and Lady A’s Hillary Scott),” “Halo,” (Maren Morris), “Say My Name” (Sam Hunt), and more.
Now that Beyonce has officially introduced her “real life hoedown,” it got me thinking of which country artists I believe she should collaborate with in the future. Click here to see my personal top 5 choices and let me know who you’d want to see added to the list.
