On the same day, Pearce along with several artists on the Big Machine Label Group roster, took the stage in Nashville during the Country Radio Seminar (CRS) to perform her new single which you can watch below.
Pearce says that she never intended on naming her new album, Hummingbird. However, after someone on her team shared the meaning behind the bird itself with her, it was the perfect fit.
For some, Pearce says it can be a sense of healing and “showing the healing process,” but the hummingbird is also a symbol of good luck. The singer-songwriter has even gone as far as putting “some luck” on her arm, for her latest tattoo.
“Hummingbird was a song that I wrote on a writing trip out in California, and sonically, it felt really special because it kind of hits on those bluegrass roots of mine,” Pearce said.
Pearce continued, “I knew that this was an important piece that I was able to put on this album, but I started to realize all of the different meanings of a hummingbird and how it is part of the healing process, which if you listen to the story in this song, it’s kind of my little artistic way of saying, I’m no longer settling for anything less than what I deserve.”
Hummingbird, the album, will follow Pearce’s 2021 collection, 29: Written In Stone, featuring “Next Girl,” “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” and her fourth career No. 1 hit, “What He Didn’t Do.” With new music on the horizon and some good luck, she says her 14 new songs encapsulate her “true love of country music.”
The “Hummingbird” singer will hit the road later this month as a supporting act on Tim McGaw’s 2024 Standing Room Only Tour, kicking off in Jacksonville, Florida on March 14. Click here to see additional news on Carly Pearce as she is also this week’s guest host on Backstage Country.
