Chris Stapleton’s ‘Think I’m In Love With You’: A Great Valentine’s Day Jam
On the heels of scoring a number one country song (“White Horse”), 2024 GRAMMY nominee Chris Stapleton has a new radio single called “Think I’m In Love With You” from his 2023 album Higher.
Chris wrote the song by himself and co-produced it with longtime producer Dave Cobb and his wife, Morgane Stapleton. The song’s narrator pledges his love to the object of his affections. He sings, over a ’70s R&B groove, “You are the truth that I believe/You are my life, you are my world/You are the air I’m breathing, girl/You are the light I want to see/You’re all of everything to me.”
He says in the studio, the recording process for “Think I’m In Love With You” was kept pretty simple, which really brings the lyrics and vocals to the forefront. Stapleton told us, “When we were recording ‘Think I’m In Love With You,’ we were making sure that we were all playing as quietly as possible, and I think that really informs the song.”
Chris earned three nominations at this year’s GRAMMY Awards, including Best Country Song (“White Horse”), Best Country Solo Performance, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance as a featured performer on Carly Pearce’s “We Don’t Fight Anymore.”
The 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards will take place live from the Crypto.com in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4, beginning at 8 PM ET. They will air live on CBS.

In a recent interview with Cowboys & Indians magazine, Chris revealed how he makes an album and who has the biggest say. He said, “My wife picks the songs. Most of the songs are heavily influenced by things that she likes. She has excellent taste in songs.”
How they met
In the same interview, Stapleton shares how he and his wife Morgane first got together. They met as fellow songwriters at the same publishing house in 2003. Chris said that she would make the joke that he would ask her to write songs at 8:00 on a Friday night. He admits, “She wasn’t wrong.” He added that “Some things are electricity,” and sometimes you just know those things “intuitively about who your love interest is.”
The couple married in 2007 and have five kids together.
