The singer-songwriter co-wrote “You’re My Texas” alongside two of her favorite ladies, Miranda Lambert and Hillary Lindsay, and her favorite Texas guy and husband, Cade Foehner. The track follows the release of “Cowboy Back,” a song also inspired by Barrett’s husband, her current single, “Glory Days,” and the poignant “Growin’ Up Raising You.”
Barrett’s highly anticipated 2024 album release follows her 2020 platinum debut Goldmine. The 23-year-old is now readying her most autobiographical work to date and is just weeks away from its release.
We caught up with Barrett in November at the CMA Awards where she told Jeff Kurkijian of the album, “My first album came out during the big year of COVID during 2020, and so this will be released early February 2, 2024. Yeah, called Chapter & Verse. And we’ve got some awesome collabs on it with Miranda Lambert, Luke Combs, Phil Wickham, and [some] Christian artists, and I’m co-producing it, so really leaning into it, making sure that it’s the best it can be.”
Barrett has come a long way since her American Idol days and has been a bright spot in the country music industry over the last few years. She has garnered herself awards from the Academy of Country Music, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, and more.
