Tim McGraw Will Never Give Up His ‘Griswold Family Cruiser’
Tim McGraw posted a video clip on his Instagram this week talking about a family heirloom that he just cannot part with.
In a video featuring his Cadillac Escalade, Tim said, “So I’ve got this at least 20-year-old Cadilac, and it’s still my favorite car; I still love to drive it. I drive it everywhere. It’s kind of like part of the family.” He shows a photo of his young daughters asleep in the back seat and continues, “Forever I would find Happy Meal french fries in it when I was cleaning it.”
McGraw continued, “I’ve got so many memories of taking cheerleaders to ball games, going to softball practices, and going to basketball practices. There was so much time spent with my kids in that car; we call it the ‘Griswold Family Cruiser,’ because it is just this big sort of tank. God, we’ve driven it across the country five or six times. I just can’t bear to get rid of it.”
He then explained that he would show up at events in the vehicle when other stars would be driving BMWs and Mercedes, and his security guard would be embarrassed by his mode of transportation. He concluded the video clip by saying he would never get rid of his Griswold Family Cruiser.
He captioned the video clip, “Who else has a little bit of Griswold spirit in their family? We keep it going year-round in the Escalade!! The memories flood back in this time of year…”

In another holiday post, Tim shared a photo of this year’s family Christmas tree in their home near Nashville. In the caption, he explained why the tree was not perfect. He wrote, “Merry Christmas! Hope everyone is finding some peace at this time of year… I know the angel is leaning, kind of a metaphor for life, I guess. But we all have hope for and faith in a better world tomorrow… Love one another; after all, that’s the real message.”
