“This has been a month of cool surprises for me. I was playing a fundraising event in Columbia, SC last week for @soundbites_foundation, when I was surprised with the Order Of The Palmetto award. As a proud South Carolinian this means so much to me. I never expected this, but am beyond honored to be the recipient of it,” Turner posted on Instagram.
He continued, “I also wanted to thank Governor McMaster for being there. He mentioned he likes to include song lyrics in his speeches from time to time and was trying to find a way to use “baby lock the door and turn the lights down low.” @govhenrymcmaster, when you do please make sure you send me the video!”
Turner, a MCA Nashville recording artist, is fresh off the release of his Greatest Hits album. The collection features 11 songs from his seven albums released to date, including his No. 1 hits, “Your Man,” “Would You Go With Me,” “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” “All Over Me,” and “Hometown Girl.”
Earlier this month, the country hitmaker wrapped up his ‘Long Black Train 20th Anniversary Tour.” Turner will return to the road in 2024 starting January 17 in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
