Dan + Shay Celebrate Meeting 11 Years Ago
Dan + Shay first met 11 years ago on December 7, 2012. In my opinion, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney have made such an impact, it’s hard to imagine country music in the 2020’s without them.

The country duo has released five studio albums to date, including their 2023 release, Bigger Houses. The album features the lead single, “Save Me The Trouble.” Dan + Shay most recently performed the track live at the 57th Annual CMA Awards in November.
Dan + Shay’s accolades over the years include a Grammy award win for Best Country Duo Group Performance for “Tequila.” They have a Billboard Music Awards win for Top Country Duo / Group. And they’ve won a CMA Award for Vocal Duo of the Year, and many more.
In celebration of their 11 years of knowing each other, Dan + Shay posted to social media yesterday. “We met 11 years ago today. Whether we’re on the road or at home, we always make it a point to get together to celebrate the day that changed our lives. We’re truly so grateful for all the support y’all have shown us over the years and hope our music continues to mean as much to you as it does to us,” Dan + Shay posted on Instagram.
Dan + Shay then posted an acoustic performance of their first original holiday song that they ever recorded together, “Take Me Home For Christmas.” You can watch the singer-songwriters perform the track below.
Smyers commented on the post saying, “Some of the other most requested songs were Bigger Houses, What Took You So Long, Neon Cowgirl, For The Both of Us, Pick Out a Christmas Tree, Officially Christmas, etc.”
Dan + Shay will hit the road in February for their headlining 2024 The Heartbreak On The Map Tour with special guests Ben Rector and Hailey Whitters. Click here for more information
