Wade posted the song to social media just last week, letting her fans know she “created this art with my brother @clintwells.” Wells played on and produced the track while they had a day off from their tour.
Wells added on Instagram, “We both really loved how raw and powerful this one in particular came out and decided to go with it. Filled out beautifully by @doneanes on keys and @eleonoredenig on strings.
The lyrics include, “I knew I loved you that Halloween / when I saw you and I got mad / you came in with someone that wasn’t me / and I’ve never felt pain that bad / so I cried in my car at the liquor store and almost relapsed.”
The Virginia native had previously released new art into the world, her sophomore album, Psychopath, this past August. Wade collaborated with co-writers Julia Michaels, Ashley Monroe, Angaleena Presley, Natalie Hemby, Liz Rose, Lori McKenna, and Butch Walker on the thirteen-track collection produced by Sadler Vaden.
“Regardless of what people say about Psychopath, I’m proud because I feel like it showcases where I am at this moment in time. I have no choice but to be authentic. And I have to feel what I feel. And right now, I’m really feeling the music,” Wade shared in a post on Instagram.
Now, Wade says she “can finally breathe” now that her music has been released to the world. Psychopath features Wade’s lead single, the title track, “Psychopath,” and the fan favorite, “Wilder Days.”
To top it off, Wade also released a brand new music video over the summer for the track “Fall In Love With Me.” Starring in the video is actress and television personality of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards.
Throughout 2023, Wade has been touring all over the country with festival appearances, headling shows, and even as a supporting act for Eric Church, Parker McCollum, and Turnpike Troubadours on select dates.
