Carrie Underwood’s ‘Storyteller’ Album Released: On This Day
Eight years ago, Carrie Underwood released her fifth studio album, Storyteller. The country music superstar made history in 2015 when her album debuted at N0. 1 on the Billboard Country Album chart.

Storyteller was produced by Jay Joyce, Mark Bright, and Zach Crowell, with six of its songs co-written by Underwood herself. She first introduced the thirteen-track collection with the record-breaking first single, “Smoke Break.”
Underwood co-wrote “Renegade Runaway,” “Heartbeat” (second single), “Smoke Break,” “Chaser,” “The Girl You Think I Am,” and “What I Never Knew I Always Wanted.”
Shortly after the album’s release, Underwood announced that she would embark on a tour in 2016, “The Storyteller Tour – Stories In The Round.” The now eight-time GRAMMY winner brought special guests Easton Corbin and The Swon Brothers along for the ride.
Underwood’s Storyteller album was certified platinum by the RIAA and won her Favorite Country Album at the American Music Awards. She also received a nomination for Album of the Year at the 50th Annual CMA Awards in 2016.
The singer-songwriter and American Idol legend gave each of the Storyteller tracks a life of their own. Underwood performed them on shows and live broadcasts such as New Year’s Rockin Eve, American Music Awards, CMT Awards, ACM Awards, and more.
Since the 2015 release of Storyteller, Underwood released her 2018 album, Cry Pretty, and most recently her 2022 album, Denim & Rhinstones. She even recently unveiled Denim & Rhinestones Deluxe Edition featuring six new songs.
Underwood will return to her ongoing REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency in 2024 at the Resorts World Theatre where she has nine remaining shows this year. You can also catch her show open every weekend during NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
The “Out Of That Truck” singer is nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the upcoming 57th Annual CMA Awards which will be held on Wednesday, November 8. She previously was nominated in this category in 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
