Now, the singer-songwriter and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is taking fans “behind the seams.” She’s going to share the stories of some of her most iconic looks.
Parton has released a new book, Behind The Seams: My Life In Rhinestones. The book is the “largest reveal of her private costume archive,” showcasing photographs both on and off stage.
“It’s here! ‘Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones’ tells the stories behind some of my favorite outfits, both on and off the stage. It also paints a picture of the evolution of my own personal style that I first developed growing up in the backwoods of East Tennessee. I hope this book will give you the confidence to look like and be who you want to be. Enjoy your journey behind the seams,” Parton shared on Twitter.
Behind The Seams: My Life In Rhinestones spotlights Parton’s looks from the 1960s to now, including items her mother would sew and costumes from television roles, among others. It covers everything from her heels, wigs, makeup, and everything in between.
Aside from seeing her life in rhinestones, Parton recently teamed up for a new duet with Linda Perry titled “What’s Up?” It is a rendition of the ’90s 4 Non Blondes hit “What’s Up?” which will be featured on her upcoming rock album, Rockstar.
Rockstar, consisting of thirty tracks, will be released on November 17, just days before she takes the stage at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Parton will perform at halftime during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game.
