Tim McGraw Is Up For A Collaboration With *NSYNC
After *NSYNC’s reunion to present an award on the 2023 VMAs on Tuesday (9/12), Tim McGraw’s team posted a video of Tim reacting to a performance clip of him performing with *NSYNC. They sang “Stand By Me” and “Lean On Me” together in December of 2001 during the pop group’s Atlantis CBS TV special.
In a video clip of McGraw’s segment on the special, a young Justin Timberlake talks about Tim. “I think the way I would describe Tim is very American. My impression of Tim is he’s a man’s man, you know. He doesn’t mean any harm, but he’s got that certain flirtation with danger about him.”
In McGraw’s post to Instagram, he is watching the performance and reacts. He says, “That was pretty awesome; it’s better than I remember it being. I was nervous as heck trying to sing with those guys. Me singing with Justin of *NYNC… You notice when they’re doing all the three-part harmonies or four-part harmonies or whatever they’re doing? I stayed out of that mess cause I would have screwed that up big time. I was pretty good, just staying in my lane. They covered me quite well.” He added, “I remember that night we had gone gambling. (laughing) I remember asking, ‘Are you guys old enough to gamble?’ I felt like the old man with those guys like I was corrupting them or something.”
Tim captioned the post, “If the rumors are true…. Maybe we can do this again sometime @nsync.”

McGraw recently weighed in on objects like cell phones and other items being thrown on stage at acts and some performers getting hurt. It happened to pop star Bebe Rexha and to Kelsea Ballerini, who got hit in the face with a bracelet a fan threw and walked off stage during a performance.
Tim, who announced a new tour starting in March 2024, told CNN that he thinks it is “terrible.” He said, “I mean, you could really injure somebody, and you could miss and hit somebody in the audience.” He went on to say that if someone gets hurt, it “ruins the show for everybody.”
McGraw noted that he is used to “soft goods” being thrown at him and said that was “fine.” He added that he feels it isn’t appropriate to throw things, saying, “Everybody’s there to have fun, and there’s just no need in any of that.”
Tim, who has lost his temper with fighting fans in the audience in the past, told the news network that he hopes it doesn’t happen to him. If it does, he will “try to stay calm.”
