Jordan Davis just celebrated the number-one success of his song "Next Thing You Know," which is about how fast kids grow up. At the Nashville party this week, we spoke to Jordan about his three kids, all under the age of five, and how his busy life on the road as part of Dierks Bentley's summer tour is causing him to spend time away from them.
Davis said, "Life's pretty crazy right now, especially where we're at in the touring season. I mean, we're in the throes of touring. You're gone from home for a hundred-plus dates, most of the time 150, so that's half the year that you don't get to see the kiddos. Even my son, who's about to turn two... they change so much in this era, in that first year of life, now the second (year) where you leave for a week, and you come back, and he's got five new words. It just changes so quickly, and you can't get those moments back."
Jordan told us that he would take his kids along on the tour now and then. He explained, "We're about to bring Eloise, my four-year-old, out for the first time on an overnight, so she's sleeping on the bus. She's really excited about it right now. But I can remember when I first got my bus, I was really excited about it, even as a grown man. Then I realized that you don't sleep too well on them."

He added, "This will be the test; it's pretty hard for me right now not to bring the kiddos out. I think we're getting busy, and like I said, we're spending half the year out; it's gonna be tough for me not to have the kids out for some weekends."
Davis notes that his number one song and the message from "Next Thing You Know" got his wife Kristin on board for some bus traveling. He said. "I think this song helped a lot, and Kristin being like, 'Yeah, maybe I will come tag along for a few weekends."
