Miranda Lambert Gets ‘Overwhelmed’ When Fans Sing Every Word
Miranda Lambert heads back to Las Vegas later this month (8/26) for a weekend of shows for her Planet Hollywood residency and will no doubt be greeted by screaming fans singing every word of her songs back to her.
Miranda has been touring consistently since breaking into the country music scene in the early 2000s. She opened shows for Dierks Bentley, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Strait, and more early in her career. Then in 2010, she kicked off her first headlining tour, “Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars,” and has been touring as the top bill ever since.
A few years back, Lambert told me that she is still mesmerized by the fans’ reaction to her music. She said, “They sing every word to every song, not just singles, album cuts. It’s just a feeling of, ‘Wow, this is why I do this in the first place.’ It takes you back to the first time you were on stage for four people, singing over beer bottles. But then you’re like, ‘Wow, I’ve come to this, and people really know me and know my music.'”
She added, “I don’t know; it just sometimes overwhelms me.”

Always supporting her beloved animals, Miranda recently launched a new MuttNation Foundation campaign, “It Takes Balls.” The campaign is to raise awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering. It will offer grant applications to low-cost programs in Tennessee, focusing on rural areas.
Lambert said, “Spay and neutering is the best way to keep pets out of overcrowded shelters. Also, to reduce pet homelessness and to make sure your cats and dogs live happy and healthy lives. Sometimes it literally takes balls to do the right thing. Please spay or neuter your pets!”
She added, “We especially encourage low-cost spay and neuter clinics in rural Tennessee that serve multiple counties to apply, and we hope to expand the program beyond Tennessee soon.”
MuttNation notes, “Every day, 70,000 puppies and kittens are born in the U.S. While beloved for their cuteness, there is nothing cute about seeing them wind up in overcrowded shelters. Especially as over 3.5 million dogs and cats are euthanized nationwide yearly, often due to lack of space.” MuttNation is inviting Tennessee low-cost spay and neuter programs to complete and submit a grant application to help address this ongoing issue.
