Tyler Hubbard: Solo Success Comes With A ‘Stronger Foundation’
Tyler Hubbard has charted two number-one solo songs since leaving Florida Georgia Line. He also opened for Keith Urban on a recent tour. Tyler and Keith share the same management; according to Tyler, his team as a solo artist surpasses what he had with FGL.
Hubbard said, “The major difference, I would say, is just having a team that’s built with a strong foundation. Strong walls and a house that’s built to last. There were some incredible years with FGL, but there were times where what was built around me was built to hold up the success that was happening, while it was happening, and you know, hold it up while it lasted.”
He added, “I feel like now I have a really strong foundation with a great team, and I feel more supported than ever. It enables me to be a better artist, a better songwriter, take more risks, and trust the people around me, which is amazing.”

Hubbard celebrated the number-one chart success of two of his solo songs, “5’9” and “Dancin In The Country,” last month. He co-wrote the latter song with Keith Urban. At the party in downtown Nashville recently (6/13), Keith joined Tyler and talked with us about their first writing session together before the party started.
Keith told us about writing the song with Hubbard, “It was natural because we were gonna be out touring, and it just made sense for Tyler to come out, he was game for it, and it was a great fit.” Tyler adds, “It was. I think that helped us kind of not break the ice, but you know, we were kind of already buddies, but being in a room when you’re writing with somebody for five or six hours, you’re pretty much ultimately as vulnerable as you can be and you become friends pretty quickly.”
