Carly Pearce Reportedly Announces Breakup At Philadelphia Show

Carly Pearce  shocked a Philadelphia crowd when she reportedly announced her breakup with Riley King. So, she could be back on the market. That’s the unofficial word from concert-goers who attended Carly’s performance at Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania over the weekend. Carly had been romantically linked to former MLB player Riley King since 2021.

The relationship was a welcome surprise to Carly’s fans after her devastating divorce from Michael Ray in 2020.(There hasn’t been any official word about whether or not they are still together.) Carly seemed broken after filing for divorce. Which led to her autobiographical album 29: Written In Stone.

She and Riley King allegedly met through a mutual friend. King played for the Kansas City Royals for a few years (2013-2016) and is co-founder of the Cowan-King Realty Group with Craig Cowan in Nashville, Tennessee. The two made their relationship public when Carly won Female Vocalist of the Year at the CMA Awards in November 2021.

Fast forward to Carly’s June 2nd, 2023 show at Parx Casino. According to fans, when the audience started chanting “Riley! Riley!” Carly shut it down, saying, “Let’s not chant that.” And “he’s no more.”

  Carly co-wrote "I Hope You're Happy Now" with Luke Combs, Randy Montana, and Jonathan Singleton. Recorded as a duet with Lee Brice, it told the story of a breakup from both sides and was inspired by her own past relationship. Combs was originally going to be featured on the song, but when he chose to step down, Pearce reached out to Brice, who was impressed by the lyrics.
