Carly Pearce: Glad She Doesn’t Have To Write About Divorce
Carly Pearce’s latest number-one song, “What He Didn’t Do,” was the final release from her 29: Written in Stone album. She told us that she is excited to share the next chapter of her music because she thinks fans may not even know what to expect.
Pearce said, “Obviously, I learned a lot sonically about where I want to continue to push myself into the rootsier side of my music. But I think more importantly, I just learned that fans, they just wanna hear what I’m going through and what my perspective is, and how I see the world in that period of time in my life. And so, I’m thankful that I don’t have to write about a divorce anymore.”
She added, “This phase of my life, while it is very exciting and fulfilling and fun and upbeat, there are still struggles that come with that, and I think I’m just really excited. I feel like, in a lot of ways, I’ve become a little bit more private with my personal life, to the point that maybe people don’t even know what this music is gonna be like, and that’s fun for me. I like the mysterious side of that.”

Carly recently wrapped her tour as the opener on Blake Shelton’s “Back To The Honky Tonk Tour.” She admits that hanging out with him the first week of the tour just about did her under.
She said in a recent interview, “This is my second tour with him, which is fun. He views me as a little sister. On the first night of the tour, he invited me to hang out with him. They call it getting ‘Blake Shelton’d,’ and it put me out of commission til the next week.” She added, “So Blake, you practically killed me that first week.”
Pearce also talked about her Grammy experiences in Los Angeles in February in the interview. She said, “I think I tried to soak it in. I was in the room with a lot of people I didn’t expect to be in a room with. I got to see Adele; I got to see Beyonce.” She added, “I didn’t speak to any of these people because I didn’t think it was the time.”
