Morgan Wallen Announces Free Nashville Arena Show For Friday

Morgan Wallen has decided to play a free show at Nashville’s Bridgestone arena for fans on Friday (3/4), the day his One Thing At A Time album is released. As his song “Thought You Should Know” sits at the top of the charts, Morgan secretly planned the celebration to commemorate the album’s release.

Wallen posted a video to his Facebook announcing the event to fans. He said in part, “I’m gonna do acoustic… everyone’s asking me why I’m not doing a Tennessee show. I’m doing one now. Friday, 3/23. See you there.”

With over 1.2 million fans already committed to 2023’s “One Night At A Time World Tour,” Morgan wanted to create the kind of night sure to create memories to last through all 63-shows—and 30 stadiums – with an up-close, in-the-round, free full band event.

Fans can only reserve tickets in person at downtown Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and are capped at two tickets per person. The in-the-round show kicks off Friday night at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 4:30 p.m.

In January, Wallen’s “You Proof” became the first 10-week number-one in Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart history. Morgan took some spray paint to fix a banner on Nashville’s Music Row yesterday (1/11) to mark the occasion. He shared a clip of himself fixing a banner on Music Row congratulating him on his latest achievement. On his Insta stories, he wrote, “‘You Proof’ is the only song ever to spend ten weeks at the top of the Country Airplay chart. Thank you to my fans, an incredible radio team, and country radio for the support. Love ya’ll.” He added, “Decided to rearrange the banner instead of buying a new one on the next story. lol.”

Morgan stood on a ladder with spray paint to fix the six weeks to ten by crossing out the six with red paint and adding a ten. He wrote over the clip, “Let’s see how good my Graffiti skills are.” As some label people laughed, he crosses out the six many times and then switches to yellow paint to do so. He writes” “That look good?” Then he takes some orange spray paint to go over the ten again and adds an orange T for Tennessee Vols on his shirt on the banner image. He steps back, and they all giggle with joy.

  • 10. “This Bar” (2019)

Morgan said, "Wrote this song with my buddies about some moments and times in my life that have made me who I am today. Some good, some bad, but all of them I can look back on and grin a little."

  • 9. “Somebody’s Problem” (2020)

    Share

This song's narrative is all about a budding new relationship; one ends and another begins. In the lyrics, Wallen thinks how a woman who is too good to be true could have slipped through an ex's fingers and guessed she is somebody else’s problem.

  • 8. “Don’t Think Jesus” (2022)

Morgan said that even though he didn't write this song, it brought him to tears upon first hearing it, and he said it is of his most personal songs.

An ode to his hometown, the photograph used as the cover image for the single, was taken looking southbound on Tennessee Highway 70 just north of Kyles Ford, Tennessee. One of the towns listed on the highway sign in the photo, Sneedville, is Morgan’s actual hometown.

  • 4. “Whiskey Glasses” (2018)

    Share

A big hit for Wallen, this song reached number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart dated June 8, 2019, after topping the Hot Country Songs chart. The song was certified 3× Platinum by the RIAA in May of 2020.

  • 3. “Flower Shops” (Ernest featuring Morgan Wallen) (2021)

This touching ballad's chorus sings, "Mister, I'll take your roses / If you cut off the thorns, she can't take no more / I'll buy violets and daisies to hide all the crazy, it's gonna take all you've got / Aw, it's a bad day for love, but a good day for flower shops."
