Kelsea Ballerini has returned from her trip to Europe, and she's already busy getting ready for her first appearance as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend.
Kelsea posted several photos and a few video clips, including one of her rehearsing on the SNL stage on Instagram. She captioned the post, "home long enough to kiss the furbaby, do laundry, rehearse new songs for tour, and deliriously lay on the floor instead of repacking. off to NYC for @nbcsnl."
One of the things she posted was a to-do list for the Saturday Night Live performance. On her iPhone, you can see the list titled "SNL/MY packing list."
The list reads:
- extensions
- fast chargers
- supplements DONT get sick
- shampoo and conditioner travel size
- black bra (not the ugly one)
- curling iron
- airpods
- throat coat
- tampons (always happens at the worst time; be prepared)
- an actual jacket
- palo santo and lots of it
Many fans reacted to the post, including one who wrote, "I am loving the way you are just so real for us fans! Like if I saw you out and about you'd be someone I'd totally be open to saying "hey you seem cool, wanna hang sometime?" Another fan said, "The note is such a mood." One more fan commented, "You are truly a down-to-earth girl."

As we reported in February, Kelsea will be making her first appearance on NBC's Saturday Night Live on March 4 as the musical guest. Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce will host the show. Kelsea joins a select group, including Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton, Garth Brooks, and more, in being the musical guest on the legendary comedy sketch show.
Ballerini posted to Instagram at the time, "it's not 7 am, and i'm not on a mountain with a view, but i am in my living room screaming, crying, and throwing up. see you march 4th on @nbcsnl."
With the announcement that Kelsea Ballerini will be the next country star to perform on Saturday Night Live on March 4, we look back at the country stars have come before her on the legendary comedy sketch show. There haven't been too many country music stars to be the musical guest on the show, and only a handful of country superstars, including Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton, and Taylor Swift, have hosted the show.
Luke Combs - Musical guest - February 2020
Luke sang two songs on the show, including his big ole hit "Beer Never Broke My Heart."
Morgan Wallen - Musical guest - December 2020
Morgan sang two songs on the show and appeared in a skit along with Jason Bateman, who played Wallen at a party.
Kacey Musgraves - Musical Guest - October 2021

Kacey is the only artist to ever perform totally in the nude with just a guitar to cover her. Kacey told V Magazine after the performance, "It was an idea that hit me last minute. A lot of my ideas come like a lightning bolt with no explanation." She added, "A couple of days [before the performance], I was getting a workout, and I had this image pop into my mind of Jenny from Forrest Gump, naked on a stool. I just thought, with 'Justified,' I had to do it."
