Garth Brooks Has Begun Rehearsals For Vegas Residency
Garth Brooks told fans in Inside Studio G last night (2/27) that work has begun on his 2023 Las Vegas residency “Plus One.” He said, “We’re getting’ back into it! Rehearsals have started.”
Garth also told fans that he was a little nervous about playing in the intimate setting of the famous Colosseum at Caesars Palace. He admitted, “I just hope when you see it…you think it was worth it. I can’t imagine that happening, but I hope you do!” Brooks added, “What I love about it is this is something that we’ve never done before. It’s right in the middle of all the great stuff, and hopefully, all the great stuff will come together onstage at once. It should be fun!”
The first night of Garth Brooks/Plus ONE: The Vegas Residency is set for May 18, with nearly 30 additional performances to follow this year and more soon-to-be-announced shows to come in 2024.
Garth recently revealed that he and Trisha Yearwood’s long-awaited album of duets would be released in 2023. One fan asked on Inside Studio G if the pair might consider releasing or working on a long-awaited album of duets as part of what’s shaping up to be a busy year for both of them. Trisha asked, “Want to?” Garth answered, “Well, I, of course, want to…but…” prompting Trisha to ask, “But?” That’s when they subtly shared news many have waited years to hear. Brooks said, “There’s already a duet record coming out this year!” Yearwood verified, “That’s true!”
The couple, married for 16 years, has lent vocals to each other’s songs since the earliest days of their recording careers. The couple has collaborated on duets already, including 1997’s “In Another’s Eyes” and more recent duets, 2020’s “Shallow” and 2019’s “Whiskey to Wine” and “What Gave Me Away.”
