Luke Bryan and his son Tate are celebrating a life passage as Tate, just 12 years old, has caught his first ten-pound fish. Luke posted the video of the moment Tate and his dad weighed the fish on Instagram.

In the video clip, Bryan can be heard yelling as he weighs the fish with his son looking on; Luke yells out, "Awww, 10,2." Tate jumps up and down as Bryan hits the ground laughing and cheering in disbelief. He captioned the post, "Took me 45 years to break 10 pounds. Tate did it in 12. Thanks @lews_fishing @kevinvandamfishing @bassproshops @bill_dance @aquatroyg."

Fans were excited about the news, and many commented, with one writing, "Way to go, Tate, love your excitement." Another admirer said, "His happiness is contagious. Awesome little man." One more fan commented, "Love seeing you do things like this with your kids! Awesome, dad!!!"

Luke is back at work this week as he and fellow American Idol judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie are in New Orleans finding talented singers for the ABC show. Bryan told us not long ago why he loves being a part of the talent show competition. He said, "Facilitating the American dream of people that are chasing their dream and chasing the stars, that's the neatest thing about American Idol."

He added, "When a kid walks through the door, you never know if they're gonna change our lives, change their lives, and change some people watching at home, change their lives too. That's the special part about American Idol – a kid can walk in, and for the rest of their life, they can go follow their dreams and do what they love — sing music."

Bryan said one of his favorite moments of being on American Idol involve fellow judge Katy Perry. He told us, "Probably one of my favorite judging moments is when Katy Perry was in a mermaid costume and falling out of her chair. And yeah, my response laughing at her was pretty priceless."

The new season of American Idol premieres on Sunday (2/19).

Luke Bryan and his wife, Caroline, have been married for sixteen years. And as they often share on their social media accounts, the couple and their extended family are always having fun. The family is in Mexico this week as Luke plays his annual "Crash My Playa" event.

At Christmas time, the couple is notorious for their "Panksmas" holiday fun they share with friends and fans. The couple also does their share of charity work, as they recently gave away Luke's truck to raise money for a cause close to their heart.

With two sons and three adult kids from Bryan's siblings who passed away in recent years at their home and Luke's mother, LeClaire, often visiting and having a ball, there is never a dull moment.

For fun, we look at country music premiere witty couple.
