Jordan Davis is nearing the top of the country charts this week with his song "What My World Spins Around." The song, which he wrote with Matt Dragstrem and Ryan Hurd, looks at how his priorities have shifted since becoming a husband and father.

Jordan told us, "Once we landed on that idea, I think it was Ryan's idea, we kind of thought back to younger us. And the things that my world revolved around were sports, football, hunting, and fishing, that was priority number-one in everything, and even when me and Kristen had just started dating, it was still music." He added, "And to have 'What My World Spins Around,' maybe it could be the kiddos showing up that I'm kind of like, 'Man, now everything I do is because of them and for Kristen.' I think that's one reason I like this song so much. It's such a look back on what I used to be about to where I am now."

"What My World Spins Around" and his CMA Song of the Year, "Buy Dirt," will be included on Jordan's forthcoming album, Bluebird Days, which arrives February 17, 2023.

Backstage after his CMA Awards win in November, he discussed moving to Nashville with his brother. "We both moved to town to write songs and just try to make a living doing that. As special as this night is, and it truly is, being in that living room of a cabin, the second 'Buy Dirt' was said, and the second that melody fell out and the chorus came out … We've all been able to witness this song from the birth of it. To think that this came out of a cabin in Murfreesboro at 9 a.m. after a quick Bible study is crazy. That is just how special and how unreal music is and how grateful I am to get to wake up every day and write songs."
