Carly Pearce is excited to be kicking off the New Year with a trip to Mexico to finally get to be part of Luke Bryan's annual "Crash My Playa" event in a couple of weeks.

Carly recently told us, "I've been telling Luke for years I want to go to 'Crash My Playa.' And so, he told me, 'Alright, you're gonna go. I promise I promise.' I always have FOMO [fear of missing out] that I'm not there, and so I'm really excited to go." She added, "Luke is one of the craziest, funniest people I've ever met in my life, so I can only imagine what you do when you get Luke down with tons of tequila and a beach. So, I can't wait."

Carly heads to Riviera Maya, Mexico, for her first "Crash My Playa" experience, January 19 – 22.

Pearce told us recently of her hopes for 2023, "Obviously, at the top of my list is creating great music. I saw how much that changed everything for me. At the end of the day, what we do is put out music, and that's what kind of continues on our trajectory of what happens next. So, I think making this next record as good or better as 29 is super important to me."

She added, "But I think past just the music stuff, I want to be the women that I love, the Dollys, the Rebas. They're household names. So, I want to figure out what is my version of that. You know, is that doing something outside of music? Is that just expanding and kind of stretching? I know I can do music, but what else can I do within that umbrella of just challenging myself?"

One day into the New Year, Carly posted one of her first meals of 2023. She wrote on Instagram, "Not me starting off 2023 eating pizza, drinking wine, and making my second chunky blanket of the week."
